---------------------------------------------------ABOUT CHRIS--------------------------------------------------------------

Chris lived in Rutland, England for 25 years. For most of this time he lived on the Hambleton Peninsula in the middle of Rutland Water. From there he explored the local area in his then rare free time from the successful business career that was his first "life". It was only after early retirement in 2001 that he dusted off an old 35mm SLR film camera to record the landscapes during his walks along the footpaths throughout the County.

His initial project - a unique two year photographic study of Rutland Water - has resulted in his first book, “Moods of Rutland Water”, published by Halsgrove.

Some of the images from that book are included on this site, along with a collection of photographs from his recent wanderings slightly further afield.

Subsequently, Chris was encouraged to photograph some of Rutland's most prestigious private gardens; the images shown here are reproduced with the kind permission of the owners. He continues to undertake private landscape and garden commissions. Chris has also worked with the Rutland Falconry & Owl Centre, producing a series of images of their stunning birds of prey.

Having moved to the Vale of Belvoir in 2013, he now also works further afield and has undertaken a study of the Derbyshire Peaks, in particular the area of and around Kinder Scout. Nowadays Chris continues to work mostly away from home, making extended trips to the Northumberland Coast, Exmoor, Dartmoor and the Lake District. He is now exploring the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

We hope you enjoy your visit.
